Project Story

Spring Valley townhomes often have smaller, more efficient kitchens — and this 1995 unit was no exception. The homeowners were renting the unit out and wanted to significantly upgrade the kitchen's appeal without a full gut renovation. New tenants were coming in six weeks, so the timeline mattered as much as the quality.

The existing cabinet boxes were in good shape structurally, so we replaced only the door fronts and drawer fronts — upgrading to white semi-custom shaker doors with glass-front panels on the upper row, which makes the space feel bigger and shows off the dishware. New brushed nickel hardware throughout.

Countertops were the biggest upgrade: out with the old laminate and in with Silestone Pietra quartz, a light warm white with subtle veining. At the peninsula, we mitered the edge for a finished look. The backsplash is a 3×6 pale green glass subway tile — unexpected but very effective with the white cabinets.

The existing tile floor was in good condition, so we deep-cleaned and regrouted it rather than replacing it — a practical decision that saved time and budget. New under-cabinet LED strips, a new Delta pull-down faucet, and updated electrical covers complete the transformation. No permits required for this scope. Completed in 3.5 weeks.
