Cabinet Construction, Specifications and Warranty Questions

Editorially reviewed planning guidance. Sources establish only the claims identified; confirm current product and project terms before committing.

Compare cabinet construction using the specifications for the exact collection on your quote. A brand name, a door sample or the word “custom” does not describe every part of an order. Separate what you can inspect from what needs a written specification before deciding which cabinet offers the right value for your room.

Make a construction comparison sheet

Ask each supplier to identify the cabinet box material, panel thicknesses, back construction, shelf supports and exposed-end treatment. Record the drawer box material, drawer-bottom construction, slide model and hinge model separately. Avoid assuming that a feature on one display is included in every collection sold under the same brand.

For framed, frameless, inset and overlay options, ask to see how doors meet the cabinet opening and adjacent doors. Open drawers and doors together in the proposed corner arrangement. These checks address access and appearance; they are not a laboratory durability test or proof of a particular service life.

Verify fit and ordering details

Ask whether the proposed sizes are standard choices, modifications or fully custom dimensions. Identify fillers, finished panels, toe kicks, mouldings and appliance panels on the order. For ready-to-assemble or unfinished products, establish who assembles, finishes and checks the cabinets, and whether those activities affect the written warranty. Do not treat the label alone as a price or quality ranking.

What the showroom actually lists

Rockland Design Factory’s published cabinet directory lists Wolf Home Products, Bertch, LifeArt Cabinetry, Dura Supreme Cabinetry, Tribeca Cabinetry, Alliance Cabinetry and Deluxe Wood Cabinetry. This is a business-published list, not independent proof of dealer certification. Confirm the current collection, product identity and availability before ordering.

Care and warranty documents belong in the comparison

Request the care instructions for the selected finish rather than using a generic cleaning recipe. Ask for the written product warranty, exclusions, claim contact and any installation requirements. A general website warranty statement should not replace the terms for your order. No cabinet lifespan, country-of-origin claim or resale return is promised by this guide.

Bring the specification sheets to a cabinet quote review. Compare them against the same measured layout so that a lower total is not simply a smaller order.
