How long does a kitchen or bathroom remodel take?

Rockland Design Factory describes typical kitchen or bathroom construction as about 20 days once planning, materials and required permits are in place. That is not the total project timeline. Design decisions, ordering, deliveries, permit review, inspections and changes to the agreed scope must be scheduled separately for your particular home.

Before construction starts

Agree on the layout and written scope, confirm measurements, select materials, check the responsible permitting office and confirm deliveries. Ask for a project-specific schedule rather than adding an assumed lead time to the construction estimate.

During construction

The scope may include demolition, preparation, cabinetry, surfaces and finishing. The order and duration depend on what your agreement includes. Inspection requirements, unexpected existing conditions and approved changes can affect the schedule.

Before you commit

Ask which materials must be on site before work starts, who arranges inspections, how changes are approved and how the team will communicate a revised schedule. A website estimate is not a completion guarantee.

FAQ

Questions people ask before visiting

Does the 20-day estimate include ordering and permits?

No. It is a typical construction estimate after planning, materials and required permits are in place. Your written schedule must account for those earlier stages separately.

Can you promise a completion date before seeing the room?

A project-specific schedule requires a reviewed scope, site conditions, material availability and permitting requirements. Confirm dates in the written agreement.
